Feed your soul
Give me a camera and a city break and I’m in bliss!
They say travel is good for the soul and that’s certainly true for this photographer. Give me a camera and a city break and I’m in absolute bliss. As much as I love Suffolk, the joy of exploring new places and cultures around the world, when I can afford to, really makes me come alive. I love experiencing the food, the wine, the architecture, the landscapes, the views, the history, the art, language, and more.
Sadly, travel had been something seriously lacking in my life since I was young and that had always nagged at me, quietly in my mind. But fate has a way of stepping in and for me that came in 2016, when I was going through a particularly rough time in my personal life.
One morning, I just reached for my phone and messaged my friend Nick. “I need to get away for a few days in February – help.” Within 24 hours he had booked our first city break away: Prague – somewhere I had always wanted to visit and OMG, I just fell in love with the place. So much so, I went back the following year.
Since then I have been to Malta, Kraków, Chania, Budapest, and India – and naturally where I go, so does my camera. My next adventure is in the planning.
Yes, I have the travel bug bad and I’m gonna share it with you – it’s probably the only bug truly worth having. So welcome to my travel photography and travel bug blog (scroll down for that!).
I hope you enjoy it.
Be Brave!
Malta is an architectural feast for the imagination and hotspot for cultural charm – it really is a wonderful place to take some time out and just explore the gorgeous towns around the island. Plus the weather’s fabulous too!
Real life in Prague
Oh beautiful Prague – a tourist’s delight. Yes, I have taken photos of all the gloriously beautiful sights like the Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square, and the Castle – but this one of these two guys is one of my favourite photos from Prague.
Conflict in Catalonia
A different side to barcelona – this amazing graffiti caught my eye as I was taking in the view of the city from Park Güell on Carmel Hill. Real life.
When visiting Kraków, I expect Auschwitz, the Old Town, and the Jewish Quarter are most likely on your list. But there are a few other ideas you should check out for your travel itinerary.

Kraków – testing my new sony RX100 V camera, the perfect travel companion.
So on my trip to Kraków (with Nick) I picked up a new camera – one I can slip in my pocket or bag anytime, without it taking up much space in limited hand luggage. It was the Sony RX100 V and I absolutely love it. Krakow was a great testing ground for it too. It’s now my go-to travel camera.
